Flute

Dr. Frederick Geiersbach directs the instrumental music program at St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, DE.

In addition to directing the school’s orchestra and jazz programs he coaches chamber music, teaches music theory, and teaches lessons on all of the string, woodwind, and brass instruments.

Fred has studied with Louis Moyse, Sue Ann Kahn, and Gregory Zeitlin. And was an undergraduate double-major in English and Music at Williams College.

He earned his masters and doctorate in music and music education at Columbia University’s Teachers College.

And has performed with many orchestras throughout his career and is much in demand as a guest conductor and clinician throughout the Mid-Atlantic area.

Fred is honored to play a Brannen Cooper flute handed down to him from his first great private teacher, Gregory Zeitlin

Violin

Dr Elizabeth McGrady is a Buffalo, New York native, Elizabeth McGrady began studying the violin at the age of three with the Suzuki method.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance at SUNY Fredonia School of Music, where she studied with the renowned violinist and teacher, Janet Sung.

Liz has performed with many orchestras, chamber ensembles, string quartets, and festivals throughout the country, including:

The Western New York Chamber ensemble, Erie Chamber Orchestra, Southern Tier Symphony.

As well as The Presto String Quartet, Shrewsbury String Quartet, Shakespeare in the park, and the Hot Springs Music festival in Arkansas.

 In between musical adventures, she is working as a pharmacist and spending time with Mac, her three year old son.

Cello

Tony Gizzi has managed and been the cellist of the Shrewsbury String Quartet for over 25 years.

He studied cello with Jeffrey Solow at Temple University, Joel Dallow of the Atlanta Symphony and Bob Cafaro of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Tony is principal Cellist of Southern Delaware Orchestra. (SODELO) and has played with many orchestras, chamber groups and string quartets including:

Orchestra Society of Philadelphia, Independence Sinfonia, Olney Symphony, Dover Symphony, Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey, Ambler Symphony, String Poets.

As well as South Jersey Youth Orchestra, Philadelphia Bible University Orchestra, Salisbury University Orchestra, the Shrewsbury String Quartet and Shrewsbury Piano Trio.

Viola

Diane Neutzling recently retired from Capital School District where she served as the Strings Specialist. Previously, she taught general music, Band, Chorus, Strings, and musical theatre at Campus Community Charter school.

Originally from Arlington, Virginia, Ms. Neutzling studied Viola and Voice at West Virginia University under the Presser music scholarship. Following college, she performed as a soprano soloist with three choral groups in the Annapolis area, and was a paid church soloist as well.

After moving to Delaware, Ms. Neutzling received a Master of Education from Wilmington University. During her teaching career she maintained a private studio, performed in several local choral ensembles and a church choir.

She also served as Viola section leader for almost 20 years for Dover Symphony. And performs freelance and pit orchestra work for countless ceremonies, concerts, and theatrical productions.

Ms. Neutzling is currently on the faculty of the Music School of Delaware as a Violin/Viola instructor. And is proud to play with Sodelo, and the Shrewsbury String Quartet, and continues to perform as much as possible.

Ms. Neutzling enjoys traveling and attending concerts, theatre, and festivals with her husband Kurt, and their children.
