I dreamed of a wedding of elaborate elegance…
a church filled with flowers, friends, and beautiful music…
I asked him what kind of a wedding he wished for…
He said “one that would make you my wife”

Shrewsbury String Quartet  playing Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel

A typical wedding ceremony:

 $975.00

For a typical wedding ceremony,  we start playing prelude music about a half hour  before your ceremony starts as your guests start arriving. We will play a special selection for the mothers and grandmothers to be seated,  processional music for the bridesmaids and special music for the bride to walk down the aisle.

We can also play music during the ceremony,  for a unity candle lighting ceremony, communion, etc. We will then play for the bride and groom  to recess from the altar,  and postlude music as your guests are leaving.

We will work very closely with you  helping you choose music that is perfect for you. If there is music that you want that is not in our repertoire,  we will do our best to find it for you.

We are pleased to welcome same sex couples.

We get many compliments on the way we sound  and we hear from a lot of brides  that they appreciate how easy we are to work with.

We can help you personalize your music.

We have played several hundred wedding Masses  and are very familiar with the timing of the music. There are some quartets that will not perform at a Catholic Mass without an organist.  We are very familiar with Catholic Masses and non-Mass ceremonies; we are very comfortable with or without an organist.

Outdoor Weddings:

We want to provide the best possible performance for your event. Outdoor ceremonies create more challenges for musicians. We have to consider weather conditions and insects.  Our instruments can be damaged by extreme temperatures, rain, or direct sunlight.

We enjoy playing outside under many conditions, however what is acceptable for a guest for comfort  is more difficult for musicians to deal with  when trying to perform our best for your event. Please be considerate and provide a safe, comfortable location for us to perform.

The Shrewsbury String Quartet adds expressive and touching music to many funerals and memorials every year;  we feel that at funerals and memorials  we are part of the Liturgy.

If classical music was important to your loved one in life, having the Shrewsbury String Quartet play at their memorial service is a special way to honor their memory.

I just received your CD in the mail this past week and I’ve been loving it. It really puts me in the wedding spirit and makes me realize just how important the ceremony music is. I was planning on just having a harpist and vocalist and if I didn’t get your CD this week I probably would have already signed a contract with the harpist.

Tony from the Shrewsbury Quartet was quick with responding to my questions and very professional. My husband and I sent the Quartet sheet music and an MP3 of a song we liked to have as “our song”. We sent it about 3 months before the wedding and to our surprise, the Quartet learned the song and even rehearsed it at another wedding (where everyone asked what it was because it was so beautiful). When they played at my wedding (ceremony), it was so beautiful, I was in tears walking down the isle! They were really great to work with and all my guests loved them! I highly recommend them! ~ Andrea M.
