Karen Friedlander has been singing in several churches for the past 22 years. She started as a choir member, then became a cantor. The experience of singing before large congregations has led her to audition and perform in many community theatres as a hobby. The roles she is most proud of are Maria in The Sound of Music and Lily in The Secret Garden. Karen has been married for 23 years and is a mother of two. She works as a freelance court reporter and is a consultant for The Pampered Chef. Sharing her gift of music is an outlet for her. Karen has performed with the Jubilate Deo Chorale and Orchestra and understudied as a soloist at a 9/11 remembrance concert at Carnegie Hall. She is presently a cantor at St. Agnes Parish in Blackwood and a member of Messenger, a contemporary Christian band.

Dear Tony and the Shrewsbury String Quartet, I sincerely apologize for taking so long to send you this thank-you note. You all were such a special part of our May 24 wedding ceremony and we appreciate your hard work and beautiful music!. Tony, thank you so much for all of your help throughout the planning process. You went above and beyond my expectations and you truly helped to make the planning process a joy. Thank you for answering all of my questions about music selections, for honoring my special requests, and for taking the time to arrange and practice a special selection for us – Bryan Adams’ “Every thing I Do, I Do It For You.” I never had to worry as I worked with you. You were kind, helpful, prompt and clearly very experienced and competent. You all played beautifully at the ceremony. It was like a fairy tale to walk down the aisle to such a gorgeous rendition of “Pachelbel’s Canon”. Sincere thanks for helping to make the most joyful day of our lives absolutely perfect. Tony from the Shrewsbury Quartet was quick with responding to my questions and very professional. My husband and I sent the Quartet sheet music and an MP3 of a song we liked to have as “our song”. We sent it about 3 months before the wedding and to our surprise, the Quartet learned the song and even rehearsed it at another wedding (where everyone asked what it was because it was so beautiful). When they played at my wedding (ceremony), it was so beautiful, I was in tears walking down the isle! They were really great to work with and all my guests loved them! Dear Tony, We would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for your wonderful music on our wedding of April 30, 2005. Everything was perfect- just as we had imagined. A big part of this is due to the quality and tone of the music played. It set such an emotional tone for our wedding, which many guests said was one of the best they had attended. Thank you so much.
